I started writing these lists in my notes app one day after I got home from my reading week trip and knew if I didn’t make an active effort to find good things around me, things to be grateful for, no matter how simple, I’d fall into the sadness I felt saying goodbye to the people so dear to me that I had just visited. While I’m not worried about that anymore, the joy that the first list brought me has compelled me to continue writing them, when I remember to. As an exercise in moving with intention and choosing to search for areas of gratitude in my life. Nothing is too trivial.
I am just an 18-year-old university student trying to finish second semester, meaning my life is quite repetitive right now, so these lists tend to be as well. But I find them quite sweet to look back on. So I thought I’d share them here where I have no control over or awareness of who sees them. I prefer it that way. After all, they do say ignorance is bliss. Anyway, I hope this lands.
P.s. credit where credit is due, I might not have put these up here but I was reading through this girl’s website (https://lolajamin.com/) and she did a similar thing but with pictures every day and I thought it was awesome.
